When choosing the correct rivet it is important to know the grip length required and the material type that is to be riveted, it is best not to use dissimilar materials in the rivet from the material that is being riveted, using a rivet that has an inadequate grip length will result in a joint that is weak and using dissimilar materials will result in premature corrosion.
